Digital Musicworks
International, Inc (DMI) Announce signing of Liz Story
“We’re privileged to be working with Liz Story,”
said Mitchell Koulouris, CEO of DMI. “She is an exceptional
musician and songwriter who is respected and admired by artists
and fans around the world. Her upcoming DMI release is sure to
break new ground and we look forward to her taking advantage of
the greater creative control afforded by DMI’s business
model.”
Story Joins Growing List of DMI Artists Liz Story joins DMI after
recording a number of best-selling, critically acclaimed albums
for Windham Hill and RCA Records. Those releases highlighted her
classical piano background, fused with a wide range of styles
embracing jazz, folk, pop and impressionistic music. She joins
an exciting and growing list of artists who have already signed
with DMI, including rock/pop icon Dwight Twilley, Seattle-based
rock band redlightmusic (fronted by former guitarist/songwriter
of the multi-platinum selling band Candlebox) and instrumental
jazz guitarist extraordinaire Lino. In addition, DMI’s roster
also includes Swedish electronica artist Bassic (who is one of
the most downloaded artists on the Internet), songwriter/vocalist
Michael Ware, singer/songwriter Larisa Bryski, and electronica
artists Diego Massanti, Silverkinetic, Mike Andrews, Digitalism
and FIN.
“I feel genuinely excited about working with the people
at DMI,” said Liz Story. “They have an intelligence,
enthusiasm and energy that have been missing from the music business
for some time. I am also looking forward to working with the digital
download format to deliver more music when I want to, and how
I want to.”
Strong Radio and Music Industry Support Expected DMI expects strong
support from radio programmers who have championed Liz Story’s
music in recent years. This support, coupled with the full-service
promotion and marketing efforts DMI will place behind Story, provides
the foundation for a strong partnership. “In the glut of
solo pianists that followed in the wake of George Winston, Liz
Story has remained both emotionally complex and harmonically austere,”
says John Diliberto, producer/host of the nationally syndicated
radio program, “Echoes.”
